Will he govern the please the fringe voters who got him through the primary, or will he govern to please a more moderate audience (i.e. The real, and very legitimate, question is how he is going to govern if he gets to the white house. During this time, my understanding is that his policy was fairly moderate. We have only seen his 'real' policy during his few short years as governor. Unfortunately, it seems like candidates in the republican party have to do this to get through the primary (i.e. Mitt Romney, The Unconvincing Convert | RedStateI think a lot of his changes in policy have been to move further to the right to win the primary election (and he is still the republican candidate that is furthest to the left). Mitt Romney Flip-Flops His staff is really saying what everyone already knows, and it is one reason why he can't close the deal with so many Republicans. His list of statements that he walked back is long and amusing. He seems pro-choice, then he is anti-choice. He is for a healthcare mandate then against it. His reputation would seem to be well-deserved.
